Sustainable Jewellery Manufacturer

Our Sustainability Policy

At Basic Jewelry, we are dedicated to revising and enhancing our Sustainable Business Development policy to align with current environmental and social considerations, addressing key issues throughout our supply chain. With a genuine commitment to environmental consciousness and sustainability in the jewellery industry, we continually seek opportunities, both large and small, to implement sustainable practices across every aspect of our company, aiming to mitigate social, environmental, economic, cultural, and political impacts.

1. Sustainable Materials

  • Responsibly Sourced Precious Metals: Our manufacturing process exclusively utilizes precious metals that are responsibly sourced and conflict-free. Our Silver and Gold Metal Refinery supplier is accredited on the LBMA (Responsible Gold Guidance and Responsible Silver Guidance for Good Delivery Refiners) List and compliant with the RGG (Multi-metal Combined Responsible Gold Guidance), ensuring adherence to regulations aimed at combating human rights abuses, preventing contributions to conflict, and upholding high standards in anti-money laundering and combating terrorist financing practices.
  • Recycled Gold and Silver: We offer our customers the option of recycled gold and silver, significantly reducing environmental impact by eliminating the need for mining and cyanide solvents. Metal scraps from production are recycled and refined back to pure silver, promoting sustainable practices.
  • Conflict-Free Diamonds and Other Materials: We maintain high ethical standards in sourcing diamonds and other materials, working exclusively with trusted suppliers who guarantee ethical sourcing. Additionally, we offer Lab-Grown Diamonds, produced without environmental or humanitarian concerns. Our closed-loop production process ensures sustainability across our entire supply chain. Upon request, we provide a certified diamond service by sending diamonds to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) Bangkok for certification.
  • Compliance with REACH Regulation: Basic Jewelry meets the European Union’s REACH regulation, restricting hazardous substances such as nickel, lead, and cadmium in all jewelry components accessible to consumers, thereby reducing harmful chemicals in the environment.

2. Ethical and Sustainable Work Practices

We prioritize fair wages and safe working environments for our employees, adhering to both domestic and international laws and social norms. All employees are covered under the Social Security Act, providing various benefits such as sickness, maternity, disability, child allowance, unemployment, old age, and death coverage. Our commitment to ethical work practices encompasses:

  • Workers Involvement and Protection
  • Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
  • Non-Discrimination
  • Fair Remuneration
  • Decent Working Hours
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Elimination of Child Labor
  • Prevention of Precarious Employment
  • Environmental Protection
  • Ethical Business Behavior

3. Creating Responsible Jewellery

3.1. Quality over Quantity

We aspire to craft jewellery that is:

  • Lustrous, high-quality, employing local techniques
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Long-lasting
  • Fairly priced

Our silver jewellery, comprising 92.5% pure silver, is plated with Rhodium for added reinforcement and durability. We prioritize skilled manufacturing and offer repair services at reasonable prices, allowing clients to restore pieces to their original condition, ensuring they can be passed down through generations.

3.2. Made to Order

In line with our commitment to sustainability, we produce handcrafted jewellery on demand to minimize excess stock and resource consumption. Our Fine Jewellery Collection is created in small batches, effectively reducing waste and promoting sustainable resource consumption.

By adhering to these principles, Basic Jewelry strives to lead by example in promoting sustainability and ethical practices within the jewellery industry, contributing to a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
